I’ve been sketching using traditional media for weeks but I never colored any of my works. And since I’m more into digital art and I don’t have any coloring instruments at home, I went to the mall and picked up a box of Faber-Castell colored pencils. Since then, I’ve been having trouble stopping myself from coloring!
Who knew using colored pencils was this fun? I just love their look on my sketchbook. When I was in school, I used to color using pastels (and won quite a few poster making contests with them, too–proud of that!), but those are really different from colored pencils. The pencils don’t mix as well as pastels, but you have much more control over them because of the narrow tip and their soft colors make your sketch’s details pop out.
I think I’m falling in love with these colored pencils. You’ll probably see more colored works here on Frustrashow in the coming days. How about you? What’s your coloring tool of choice? š
Excellent! I too am a big fan of Faber Castell coloring pencils!

They’re really good. I was wondering whether I should get the water color pencils or the classic set, but I figured I should take it one step at the time. Get good at color pencils first before trying water color. The classic color pencils are great! š
