Let’s kick off this week with a feature on a superbly fantastic artist. Chris Ellis is a freelance illustrator and designer from Belfast, Ireland who has a unique, amusing artistic style. His website, Ellistration (a clever play on “Ellis” and “illustration”), is jam-packed with awesome art pieces Chris made for various projects–from works featuring pop culture faves like Game of Thrones and The Legend of Zelda to more personal creations like this cow he painted for a friend’s housewarming.

One of the highlights of my day is sifting through social media networks to find awesome artists from around the world. When Chris tweeted me the cool Star Trek illustration above, I just couldn’t wait to put it up here on Frustrashow. Check out the delicious details of the piece right here. I myself have only watched the recent Star Trek reboot films and thought they were great but I’m a bigger Star Wars fan; correction: I’m a HUGE Star Wars fan. Needless to say, I absolutely geekgasmed browsing through the Star Wars illustrations Chris did for an up and coming film blog. But aside from the many pop culture references, what I really love about Chris’ art is that it’s not only beautiful but also effortlessly funny.
